Pirovac is a place in the region of Sibenik. Pirovac is the place and the port which is located 26 km northwest of Sibenik. The low end is dominated by uplift of St. Mark. Economy is based on farming, viticulture, shipping, fishing and tourism course.

Pirovac is located on the main road M2, E65. It has a port that is protected from all winds where you can sail yacht up to 2 m gauze and rope along the pier.

History of Pirovac

Pirovac in Dalmatia is dating since 1505, as the Mediterranean settlement, under the name Zlosela. However, in 1298 it belonged to the prince of Subic of Bribir and later it was in the possession of the diocese of Sibenik.

The properties of the stormy and rich history of Pirovac in Dalmatia, as well as the cultural and heritage value are preserved until today.

Since the 15th Century it was the place of refugees which fled from Turks. These areas were populated many centuries earlier in the Dalmatian Adriatic, with the remains of a settlement from the time of the Roman Empire.

Today, Pirovac in Dalmatia is the cultural and historical center in Croatia connected with:

Sibenik (22 km), Zadar (48 km), Trogir (85 km) and Split (108 km).
