Jezera

From Croatia

About 3 km south of Tisno away are placed Jezera, the small fishing village on the island of Murter in the Sibenik-Knin County and North Dalmatia. In the village there are a ACI Marina and a sailing school. The name of the place derives of word for small lakes, which running through the valley in autumn and winter, then again disappears in spring. About the bay rises the hill Mortar - a word combination of the Illyrian word "sea" and "the tower" - from which is derived the island name.

How to get to Jezera

You can reach the place over the bridge compound at Tisno. This fishing village is settled on the island of Murter, partly, 3 km away from the mainland, and this bridge is main connection to the Adriatic tourist road.

History of Jezera

It is not known exactly when it was established, but it is assumed that the first inhabitants were settled in 13. century. Mortar hill arise above the bay, from which derives the name of island. The historical monuments were created mainly in 17. and 18. century.
